I can comment, regarding the eyes. My face was damaged by Pixel/RF combo. The area under my eyes became very flat, after the "treatment". It was like someone else was looking back from the mirror. I did regain some volume over the next year, but not the same as I had before.

I have circular hypopigmentation marks on my face, mainly on my chin. There are many of them. I am pale (or so i was before this hidious skin infection) so they were not really noticable to others but if you look close you can see them all in the shape of circles................

I also have had a problem with dry lips since my IPL. From what I have been reading on here, it is a common problem. I recently started using a product called Bite Agave Lip Mask. It is so thick, you really have to work to get it out of the tube, but it is worth it! It is the only product I have found so far that I can apply just before bed and wake up with it still on. I put a thin layer on in the morning too and then use Fresh Lip Treatment during the day. It has helped a lot with my dry lips. I have heard that Roc D Enydrial is great for dry lips too, but I haven't been able to find it in the stores. I believe it is only sold in Canada and maybe in Europe.

hello, My lips were burned by a careless RN who had the candella laser set too high. A life sentence for me.

Me2, I'm ALWAYS interested in anything that can possibly help the lips. Will check out the Agave Lip Mask. Many nights, I just slather olive oil on them before bed.

My lines continue to deepen. The ones that were not really noticable before (excepty to me of course) are fully out now. I am developing "smokers lines" above my lip (i don't smoke). This is what upsets me the most. My lips are also dry and peel frequently. They burn sometimes. I have found that burts bees soothing lip balm with menthol helps with the burning but they are still very dry. I am still not giving up hope that things can get better. If they don't i will need to something about these lines above my lip. I am going to get another fat transfer as well but was hoping i could get my skin in better shape first. Has anyone had any luck with microdermabrasion for the lines caused by laser? I would love to hear from anybody who has had this done in an attempt to minimize the damage.

7 Balm is, by far, the best lip product I've found. It's a more natural product containing organic oils and manuka honey. http://7cream.ca/7-balm-2/

Thank you cristeena.
I went to see another skin specialist , i am desperate to have my skin sorted , she told me nothing can be done for the fat loss but i knew that , only fat transfer or fillers will help.

But she told me to try Omnilux ligh , ti have 3 session and then a very mild peel , she think would help . I have to say i was very keen to try but now i am scared to go for it . Has anyone else try this red light ? suppose to have no side effect , but i heard that before and i ended up burned.
Also what about superficial peels ?

Hi Hello1, although nothing can be done for fat loss, facial exercises can help make the face look less gaunt by increasing muscle volume. I've been doing Flexeffect facial exercises for 8 months and my under eye area has improved - it's not as hollow now and my cheeks are looking fuller. Generally I look more normal than I did! My face looked so thin before. Anyway I just wanted to mention it because I also looked into fat transfer and would never do this because it's too risky, so I decided to try facial exercises instead and I'm really pleased I did.

Thank you for sharing this!

Would you mind providing a link for the specific exercises you're doing?

I've been researching flexeffect and came across this on EDS: "So I started flexeffect -just the resistance program- over a month ago but all the pulling on my skin has made my skin so very irritated, it is red, lots of open pores and weird blemishes, it feels very rough. It seems like the rough pulling motions required have injured it or bought crap to the surface, I would not ever dare even try the aggressive massages or pressure reps!! I know my skin is very sensitive as I only exfoliate once a week with stuff for sensitive skin anything else and I get broken capillaries, spots and irritation." http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/vi ... ?tid=46193

So it may not be for everyone here. It sounds like Carole Maggio might possibly be a gentler facial exercise program? (haven't checked into that one yet..)

I have looked into facial exercises; some people claim it causes wrinkles while others claim it prevents or cures them. Just like everything else out there, some things seem to work well for some people and not so well (or devastating results) for other people. I guess it all depends on what you are willing to take a gamble on and what you have to lose or gain. I remember reading quite some time ago that people living in a catatonic state in institutions have been noted to have smooth skin and very few wrinkles; there is a theory their good skin condition is due to the lack of muscle movement in the face, but it also could be from the lack of exposure to pollutants and sunlight too.

HANG IN THERE we all have bad days. When I'm feeling bad I try to funnel my anger/frustration into something productive, even if it's one thing. Baby steps. And as far as how you look, maybe try to play up what was not damaged. Do you have nice hair? Style it to the nines. Do you have nice eyes? Emphasize them w/ some nice makeup. Nice lips? Wear pretty gloss. Do you have any hobbies? Get into those. You may not have the skin you had, but you can try make a new normal. If it's too much and you need help, see a counselor.

G'day hello,
I am thinking of you and I know exactly how you feel because I have felt all of those things. Sometimes I just try to think of my skin as a shell and think the real me is deep inside and that person is still the same. I think when any damage happens to a persons face, the effects on our identity are devastating. I have had some tiny improvements so it gives me hope that at some point the damage stops and goes the other way. Wishing you healing from Australia

Hello1 between 18 months and 2 years to see the improvements. I recently went on a holiday to America for 2 months and noticed more improvements so try to deal with the stress and minimise it if you can. Although it is hard not to be stressed when it's our faces suffering from these greedy and unethical salons.

Hello 1 . I am in UK also and in exactly the same situation from ipl laser.Im only 6/7 weeks out and reading your story scares me so much as I can already see dramatic fat loss. I look almost manly now and so thin. Going to the gym is terrible as I can see my gaunt face sagging about in the mirror at 26..
Im lucky enough..so far..not to not have many textural issues other than a small pinprick scar on my right cheek but the fat is terrible. I used to be nicknamed apple because of my cheeks. Its devastating.

I've signed up to six sessions facial acupuncture and had my second tonight. Too early to see results but my skin looks rejuvenated after and its so relaxing. Id recommend it even for time for yourself to unwind.
As for the red light ive been torn. I started red light treatment a year ago before any of this started and looking at pictures I think it helped overall with plumpness. I was happy with my skin other than one scar before laser! I also found it healed pores in a few weeks when I suffered bad texture after retinol use last summer. (summers are cursed!) I own three devices at home and have been scared and unsure to use them now since ipl but I figure if it can gently promote blood flow to skin it must help and ive got nothing to lose...but im scared of light now!

Ive also found manuka doctor skin repair gel great for healing surface which you could try. I used it when I started to see
orange peel and it helped. I ordered psoria sensitive but tend to use it once every other day instead to allow natural healing too.
Ive also tried gentle microcurrent with nuface trinity which I feel promotes blood flow as well but everything is a gamble I guess.

The doctor that did this is away for summer...typical...but im booked to see a doctor in harley street next week to discuss prp...im steering away from fillers and too scared of fat graft.

I hope youre ok. This is all so unfair. I cant mention it to my boyfriend as he thinks im mad..he told me not to get it in the first place. If only id listened!

Doubtful, but did anyone see any improvement with weight gain??

x

Hello1, a little volume has come back but not all. I forgot to mention acupuncture, I think it works on a whole of body sort of way and helps with the enormous stress.

Thank you for words. More than youth, I hope luck is on all of our sides. I think you may be right about prp. I went for the consultation at harley st skin clinic initially and the lady was so unhelpful and uninterested and just said sculptra or fat graft but that im young to worry about volume loss. I tried to ask about risks and things just to get more info and about fat graft for example she said; 'no risks other than thst the fat will stay there' and about sculptra 'none its your own collagen'. We all know there are many risks..lumps, infection, fat not taking etc. Im sick of bad advice and lies in the industry. Anyway ive asked to see the doctor instead just to discuss prp but im chickening out too. Its 95 pounds consult though which comes off treatment or I waste it now. Expensive! Anyway il let you know what they say.

Another acupuncture session tomorrow too. Facial only so far . She does skin massage first and then comcemtrates needles in areas that look flatter.

I hope you get more help with tracy manford, good luck. The itching must be terrible but I do think that can indicate body is healing..well with scarring at least so same may apply here. Are you using psoria gold at all? St Thomas are great hospital too and at least if NHS theyl have an answer not blinded by financial gain.

know what you mean skin can be covered with make up but not volume loss. Someone at work said careful I dont lose too much weight too. Im trying to eat fruits and veggies as advises but dont want to actually lose weight so carbs as much as poss too. Im taking many vitamins. Im sure the collagen drinks are benefiting you In some way under the surface but its so much money for us to just undo what should never have been done

I live in London. Id be happy to be meet :). Im away most of summer now though. Hopefully that will be good to take time away too.

All the best xx

My face has been itching on and off since having RadioFrequncy , but the last week it has been every single day to the point of waking me up at night , i seem to have even more fat loss now, what is going on , the itchiness is where the RF has been , the head of the RF device is showing even more now then it did a month ago, surely after 18 months the fat has stopped going, right ? I am so scared now as i really though that was it and no more fat going , i can understand the skin being damaged still but why would the fat still go after all this time . Has anyone else experience this? This is a nightmare, my face look sooo old now and skinny . Is there any hope ?

This site recommends lasers. Boo It also mentions Dr. Coleman. Yuck. He's known for stuffing people's faces so full of fat, they're beyond recognition.

yeah, perhaps not a good read then ;) laser is a no no no , never heard of dr Coleman but by what you are saying is also a no no no , was interesting to see that this site say that fillers in the long run damage the skin and can age more but yet all the doctors I have spoken to tells me they are good for the skin in the long run, who to believe . what you guys think .

I had the same experience. I am just over 4 months out. Things are improving, face is plumping again! I still have some holes there but...
STOP using tap water on your face.
Bottled/Distilled water only.
That helped a lot with the itching believe it or not.
The skin is compromised and the chemicals in tap water can trigger allergies in us!
Also take Zyrtec if need to. It seemed to be the only antihistamine that worked for my damage.

Thank you guys , i got some antihistamine over the counter over the week end , the itching still there but not as much , i have been itching on and off for nearly 18 months , but last couple of week has been really bad specially under my eyes and cheeks , i try not to scratch ( it is very hard not too ) and try my best not to touch my face , i will try not to use water and buy a milk cleanser instead this week anything to help is a bonus. , i really really hope this itching is a sign of healing , even if it is a little sign, it would make me so much happier as my face is looking a real mess.
I am looking into fat transfer does anyone in the UK know a great surgeon for fat transfer ?

Has anyone seen improvements regarding fat loss and the itching/tingling feeling?
My under eye area has been flattened, eyes sunken back. I can pull the skin of my lower eyelid way out because the eyeball is sitting further back. I'm terrified it will get worse with age. I have no contour at all in my face. I feel it has give my face a masculine appearance and looks wider now.
I need to know things can get better. I'm only almost 4 months out but I stopped living the day my damages appeared.
Y life feels like pure hell.
